Lady Panthers Rock Lady Dragons

Playing against one of their biggest rivals in their own tournament, the Lufkin Lady Panthers left no doubt in the opener of the showcase, steamrolling the Nacogdoches Lady Dragons in an 11-1 victory at Jase Magers Soccer Field on Thursday afternoon.

Julissa Muniz poured in four goals while Katelyn Knowles added a hat trick to pace Lufkin.

Muniz started that flurry with another goal before Knowles scored off an assist from Suzi Youssef less than a minute later.

Abby Horn made it 4-0 on a goal midway through the first half.

Nacogdoches momentarily stopped that momentum with a goal that made it 4-1 before Lufkin erased all doubt with a flurry of three goals in a three-minute span.

Youssef started the run with a goal, Muiz finished off her hat trick and Horn added her second goal to make the score 7-1 with five minutes left in the first half.
