Area golfers can raise money for a good cause while remembering a coaching legend as the 4th Annual John Outlaw Memorial Golf Tournament will be held July 23-24 at the Crown Colony Country Club. The tournament is sponsored by Wright Buick GMC and Lufkin Coca-Cola and tournament proceeds will go to the John Outlaw Foundation, which helps raise money for scholarships for Lufkin High School athletes.
The tournament is a four-man scramble format and participation is limited to the first 60 teams that sign up. Cost is $550 per team with a cart included. There will also be cash prizes, including rewards for holes-in-one. First place will win $1,800, second place will win $1,100 and third place will win $800. On course refreshments will be provided by Lufkin Coca-Cola and there will be a full fajita dinner and business meeting on Saturday night at 6.
