It was a perfect weekend for the Lufkin Lady Panthers’ soccer team as they rolled to three wins at the Lady Lobo Invitational in Longview.
Lufkin started the tournament by getting past Mount Pleasant in a 1-0 decision. Abby Horn scored the lone goal for Lufkin.
On Friday, the Lady Panthers duplicated that result by capturing a 1-0 win over the host team. Abby Horn once again did the damage as her goal in the 14th minute of the game proved to be the only score of the contest.
Lufkin finished the tournament with its third straight 1-0 win as it took down Red Oak on Saturday.
The Lady Panthers got their only score of the game when Kenzie Crager passed to Katelyn Knowles, who headed in the score midway through the first half.
Lufkin will be on the road once again on Tuesday night as it travels to face the Nacogdoches Lady Dragons. The JV game will start at 4 p.m. with the varsity following at 6 p.m.
