Lady Pack Gets Key Road Win

The Lufkin Lady Panthers’ basketball team hit the road on Tuesday night and came away with a key victory, sneaking past The Woodlands, 44-43.

The Lady Panthers were led by JaKayla Suell’s 16 points while KeKe Cleveland added 12.

Other Lufkin scorers were Alexis Hood (8), Ivie Massie and Diamond Johnson (3) and Kurstyn Harden (2).

The Woodlands fell to 16-8 on the season and 0-2 in district action with the loss. The Woodlands also lost its district opener, 36-34, to College Park.

Lufkin is 2-0 in district action after wins over Oak Ridge and The Woodlands. The Lady Panthers return to action on Friday night as they travel to face College Park, which is also 2-0 in district after a 59-50 win over Conroe on Tuesday night.
