Playing in their final game before district action starts, the Lufkin Lady Panthers’ softball team looked unstoppable on their way to an 11-0 win over the Corrigan-Camden Lady Bulldogs at Morris Frank Park on Saturday afternoon.
Smiley Radke and Lexy Ramirez combined for a no-hitter in a game that was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Radke struck out 11 batters, and her only blemish was a walk as she picked up the win in the pitching circle.
Ramirez allowed a walk and struck out one in her one inning of work.
Sara Mayes led the Lady Panthers at the plate with three hits while Leah Akridge added two singles.
Julie Armes, Cailee Hendrick and Tatum Liles each had a single.
Lufkin took control of the game early as it scored three runs in each of the first three innings. The Lady Pack added two more runs in the fourth inning.
The Lady Panthers will open district action on Tuesday night as they host the College Park Lady Cavaliers. The JV starts at 4:30 p.m. with the JV following at 6:30.
