It was an impressive night for the Lufkin Lady Panthers’ softball team as they traveled to Jacksonville and came away with an 11-0 blowout win.
Smiley Radke was unstoppable in the pitching circle as she struck out 10 batters in four innings.
Lexy Ramirez then pitched the final inning, getting a strikeout and a pair of ground balls to close out the win.
Leah Akridge led the Lady Pack at the plate with three singles and a double.
Sara Mayes added a pair of singles and a double to go along with three RBI.
Following a string of road games to start the 2017 season, the Lady Panthers will be at Morris Frank for their home opener on Saturday.
Lufkin will take on Corrigan-Camden with the JV starting at 10:30 a.m. and the varsity following at noon.
That will be Lufkin’s final non-district tune-up before it hosts College Park in the 12-6A opener on Tuesday night.
