The Lufkin soccer teams had an up and down night on Thursday as they battled the Conroe Tigers and Lady Tigers in District 12-6A soccer action.
The Lady Panthers relied on their defense as they battled to a scoreless draw against the Conroe Lady Tigers at Jase Magers Soccer Field.
With the tie, the Lady Panthers moved into a second-place tie with the College Park Lady Cavaliers.
On the boys’ side, the Panthers dropped a 2-0 decision on the road to the Conroe Tigers. Conroe scored one goal in the first half then added another one shortly after the break.
Lufkin remained in a fourth-place tie after the loss.
In JV action, the Lady Panthers took a 4-1 victory while the Panthers fell, 1-0.
The Lady Panthers return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to face Montgomery. Lufkin will be at home for a key district contest against Montgomery.
The JV games will start at 4 p.m. while the varsity contests start at 6.
