It was another big night for the Lufkin softball and baseball teams as they each picked up District 16-5A wins on Tuesday night.
The Lady Panthers had to overcome an early deficit before rallying for a win, while the Panthers were never really tested in a blowout road win.
Lady Pack 8, Corsicana 3 – After a slow start, the Lufkin Lady Panthers relied on a powerful offense and the typical shutdown pitching of Alex Flores to roll to an 8-3 win over the Corsicana Lady Tigers at Morris Frank Park on Tuesday night.
Corsicana pounced out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, Alex Flores made her return from injury to keep the Lady Tigers at bay until Lufkin’s offense got them back into the game.
Flores worked five shutout innings while giving up three hits and three walks. She also struck out nine.
Lufkin was able to get back into the game with a pair of runs in the third inning. Raegan Jordan and Yami Valdez each had RBI singles as the Lady Panthers trimmed the margin to 3-2.
Lufkin then took the lead for good in the fourth inning with Amber Griffith and Leah Akridge each delivering RBI singles.
Lufkin then put the game away with three runs in the fifth inning as Flores helped her own cause with a hit that made it 8-3.
Radke started the game and worked two innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Lufkin (24-2) will be back at home on Friday night when it hosts Jacksonville.
Panthers 10, Jacksonville 0 – The Panthers bounced back from their first loss of the district slate with a  dominating 10-0 win over the Jacksonville Indians in Jacksonville Tuesday night.
Kolton Eberlan was spectacular on the mound as he pitched a complete game three-hit shutout. In his seven innings of work, he struck out six and walked none.
Eberlan had plenty of help from the Lufkin offense, who had five players get multiple hits.

Ben Osgood had a single and two RBI, Stephen Jaraguchi had a double and an RBI and Max Quick added a single.
