The Lufkin Lady Panthers started the Splendora Coca-Cola Classic Tournament with a narrow loss before finishing with four straight wins over the weekend.
Lufkin started the tournament with a tough 54-52 overtime loss against Klein Oak. Alexis Hood scored 20 points to lead the way for Lufkin, while Kurstyn Harden had 13.
Other Lufkin scorers were JaKayla Suell and Diamond Johnson (7), KeKe Cleveland (2) and Ivie Massie (2).
Lufkin bounced back the following day with a pair of blowout wins.
The Lady Panthers started the day with a 51-26 win over Huntsville with Harden leading the way with 11 points.
Suell, Cleveland and Hood scored eight points each.
Other Lufkin scorers were Destinee Holman (6), Destinee Denning and Jada Johnson (4) and Deja Shepherd (1).
The Lady Panthers followed that with a 76-40 win over New Caney with Denning leading the way with 12 points. She was joined in double digits by Suell, Cleveland and Hood, who scored 10 points each.
Other Lufkin scorers were Harden (9), Holman and Massie (8), Diamond Johnson (6) and Jada Johnson (4).
On the final day of the tournament, Lufkin started the day with a narrow 50-48 win over Wharton with Cleveland leading the way with 16 points.
