Lufkin heads to Jacksonville this Friday night for both teams regular season finale. Jacksonville was eliminated from the playoff race several weeks ago and are coming off a 57-21 loss to John Tyler at Rose Stadium. The Indians are 2-7 on the year and 1-5 in District 16-5A play.
It will be the first grass field Lufkin has played on this year.
Lufkin on the other hand had already qualified for the playoffs last week with a coin flip win over Ennis. After two weeks off Lufkin came out with a convincing 38-10 win over the Corsicana Tigers who still hold in their hands their own playoffs hopes this week and must defeat Ennis to make it as the 4th place team in 16-5A. Lufkin moved to 6-3 on the year and 5-1 in District play. The Panther defense held Corsicana to only 234 yards of total offense, while the Pack offense led by Kordell Rogers rolled up 424 yards before coasting and running the time off the clock in the 4th quarter.
