Lufkin’s Friday night match-up was the stuff highlight reels are made from.
Blanking the A&M Consolidated Tigers in Panther territory made it that much better.
Elias Aguilar converted a penalty kick to a goal late in the first half, starting the scoring drive at 1-0. The intense back-and-forth continued in the second half as Lufkin built on their earlier momentum.
This time, it was Luis Garcia who scored on a penalty kick, making it 2-0. Later, Garcia scored again on a one-on-one drive down the field, sealing the 3-0 win. From there, the Pack’s defense continued to hold as the exhausted Tigers tried a desperate attempt to put something on the board.
The Pack enters a bye-week from here, building up steam for when they meet up with the Bryan Vikings when district play resumes at Jase Magers field on Mar. 15.
