When Isaiah Phillips walked off the field of a Round 4 loss to Longview in December of last year, head coach Todd Quick knew he was losing something special.
“Isaiah carried the load for us last year,” Quick said. He was a 2,000 yard rusher. We have been here since 1995 and have only had one other back do that is something special you don’t have every year.”
Phillips is leaving Lufkin after graduation in a few weeks to play college ball at the University of Louisiana Monroe. He will be joined by his teammate Malik Jackson.
