Pack soccer edges Longview

Rodrigo Molina scored a goal with 12 minutes remaining as the Lufkin Panthers’ soccer team pulled off a 2-1 win over the Longview Lobos in non-district soccer action at John Outlaw Memorial Field at Abe Martin Stadium on Tuesday night.

Jared Vasquez scored the opening goal for the Panthers.

Lufkin will return to action on Thursday when it hosts its own tournament. The tournament is currently set for the rain schedule due to recent weather in the area.

Henderson vs. Splendora, 9 a.m.;

Lufkin also had a pair of JV games on Tuesday night.

Lufkin’s B team picked up a 2-2 tie with Longview as Erick Martinez and Alex Santana each scored a goal.

The Panthers’ A team then dropped a 4-1 decision against Longview.
