While most of us were avoiding the 103 degree heat this afternoon, JV and varsity players were running plays and working out new drills.
But its a turnout head coach Todd Quick is pleased with. “I thought they did good,” he said. “You know, the first day they always bust out. About half way through, the heat hits them… In the end, you know, it’s about what we expected of them.”
The Panthers will return tomorrow afternoon for another round. By Friday, they will be in full pads, preparing for a season opener that has the Pack traveling for the first three games, with the first against the Longview Lobos before moving on to Tyler Lee. The Panthers will then play against West Monroe in the Battle on the Border Independence Bowl.
