Rainouts cause Lufkin teams to adjust schedules

Lufkin baseball, softball, track pushed back due to rain

Heavy rains in the area caused the Lufkin baseball, softball and track and field teams to make changes to their schedules on Tuesday afternoon.

Lufkin’s baseball game against Montgomery, which was originally set to be played at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night, was moved to Wednesday.

That game will be played at Morris Frank Park at 6 p.m.

The Lady Panthers also had their Tuesday night home game against Montgomery postponed due to the rain. That game will be played on Wednesday night at 6:30 at Morris Frank Park.

The District 12-6A Track and Field meet, which was set to start at Abe Martin Stadium on Tuesday, was also pushed back.

Field events will be held on Thursday afternoon while running finals will start at 6 p.m.

The baseball team will also have a Thursday game this week in order to not interfere with the Easter holidays.

The Panthers’ baseball team will play at Montgomery on Thursday night at 6.

Following the Lady Panthers’ game on Wednesday night, they will be off until April 18 when they travel to take on Oak Ridge.
