2012 Regional Quarterfinals

It was a beautiful day in Bryan, TX as the sun set on another Lufkin Panther victory. The faithful fans packed the stands again as the Pack drove home the win against the Pfluggerville Panthers, 56-43. The band and drill team flipped their nose at superstitions and spelled out “WACO” at the end of the half-time performance on Saturday, and that is exactly where the Pack is headed on December 1st.

Lufkin is steadily climbing the state rankings, sitting at #60, the clear underdogs. They will face #31 Plano West at 2:00pm this Saturday at Waco ISD Stadium. Tickets for this week’s play-off game are on sale in the Panther Ticket Office in the LISD Transportation building (a.k.a., the bus barn) at 811 S. Timberland Drive from 7:00am-4:30 pm. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the gate will be $8.

The Lufkin Panthers remain as the last team standing in our district. The Woodlands suffered a surprising loss to Round Rock Westwood 34-26 on Saturday. A&M Consolidated, who has led in our district even after the Panthers defeated them early in the season, finally fell in a heavy blow from Westlake, 45-2.

With another win, Lufkin would face the winner of Longview (#20) versus Westlake (#30) in the semifinals next Friday, December 7th.
