UIL Rules in Favor of New Lufkin Student

The UIL ruled today that new Lufkin student Kendrick Mapp will be able to play Friday night. Mapp moved into the district this summer and had to have special permission from the University Interscholastic League to be eligible to play for the Lufkin Panthers. Lufkin Superintendent Roy Knight and Coach Todd Quick appeared before the committee this morning for a ruling on the issue. Mapp is a Lufkin senior running back, number 23 and is expected to see action this Friday night against Tyler Lee.
