What a Week: Lufkin ‘Flips’ for Win, Moves Game to Saturday

In one of the weirdest ways to win a football game, the Lufkin Panthers called a coin flip to walk away with the W on their away game against the Ennis Tigers on Friday, October 23, 2015. With rain and lightning threats pushing the delay past the UIL curfew, both Ennis and Lufkin agreed to flip for the game.

Lufkin’s next game is against the Corsicana Tigers and has been moved to this Saturday at 2pm. Corsicana was slated to play John Tyler this past Friday and, with severe weather in the area, delayed the game October 26. Regulations set forth by UIL state there must be five days between games, and both coaches agreed to the petition.

More rain is predicted for this weekend, so bring your umbrellas and support the Panthers as they continue to advance on their season. Kickoff will be at 2pm at Abe Martin Stadium.
