Today is the fourth day of the Lufkin Panther Sports 2016 Football Camp. Offensive Coordinator Scott Green and Wide Receiver Coach Ralph Thomas agreed to do an interview.
Green spoke with us, and his attitude about the season was optimistic. He said the LPS offense was going to do the same thing they always do: throw the ball a lot and keep working. He was excited about the first game of the season next Friday, Aug. 19.
“They know what is expected, and we’re going to push them and make sure they are ready,” Green said about the team’s first day of practice wearing pads that will be Friday, Aug. 12.
Thomas met with us to discuss the season as well. He explained how he looks to Green for direction, and that both he and Green stress knowing your steps in the wide receiver position.
“Mental focus was one of the biggest issues that I know we had when I took over in the spring,” Thomas said. “Wide receiver is a technical position.”
