Huesca scores hat trick in Panthers’ win; Lady Pack ties Tyler Lee

Bryan Huesca recorded his first hat trick of his Lufkin High School career as the Lufkin Panthers closed out the Longview Lobo Invitational with an impressive 3-0 win over the Kilgore Buldogs on Saturday.

Huesca got his first goal in the first half off an assist from Bryan Pineda and added a second goal before the break.

He finished off his hat trick with a goal with 24 minutes remaining in the game.

Lufkin finished the three-day tournament with a 1-1-1 record.

The Panthers will take on Longview on Tuesday night at 6 before hosting the Lufkin Panther Showcase starting on Thursday.

On the JV boys side on Saturday, David Cisneros scored both goals to lead the Pack to a 2-1 win over Henderson.

Lady Panthers 2, Tyler Lee 2 – The Lufkin Lady Panthers allowed a late goal to settle for a 2-2 tie against the Tyler Lee Lady Raiders at the Lady Pack Showcase on Saturday.

Tyler Lee got on the board first before Ashley Walker scored the tying goal with 28 minutes left in the first half.

Lufkin then took a lead early in the second half when Suzi Youssef scored a goal.

However, the Lady Panthers allowed a late goal to settle for the tie.

Lufkin finished the tournament with a 1-0-2 record.

Lufkin will compete in the Lady Lobo Invitational in Longview this weekend.
