The Lufkin Lady Panthers continued their stellar play in the district race by rolling to a 66-44 win over Conroe at Panther Gym on Friday night.
Lufkin led 34-22 at halftime before opening things up after the break.
The Lady Panthers will return to the road on Tuesday night when they face Montgomery.
Conroe 68, Panthers 62 – Playing a third straight road game, the Lufkin Panthers laid it all on the line against the Conroe Tigers on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Pack, they came away just a few plays short as they dropped a 68-62 overtime decision in Conroe.
Kordell Rodgers led the Panthers with 17 points, while Courtnee Garcia had 12. JaCourtney Calvin finished the night with eight points.
Lufkin held a slim 25-23 lead at halftime and the game was tied at 53-53 after regulation.
Lufkin will return home from a three-game road trip on Tuesday as it hosts Montgomery.
