The Lufkin Lady Panthers continued to roll through the District 16-5A schedule, picking up wins over Jacksonville and Nacogdoches.
On Friday night, the Lady Panthers relied on another big game from Alex Flores, who pitched six innings of shutout ball to pave the way to a 7-0 win over the Jacksonville Lady Indians.
She struck out 10 batters and battled her way through six Jacksonville hits.
She had plenty of support from her offense as Leah Akridge led the Lady Panthers with three singles and a pair of RBI. Amber Griffith added a triple, single and an RBI.
Sara Mayes had a pair of singles and two RBI and Reagan Jordan added two singles and one RBI. Cailee Hendrick had a single and an RBI and Jasmine Ibarra and Flores each added a double.
Lufkin kept the pressure on Nacogdoches throughout the night with Akridge delivering an RBI single in the first inning before key hits from Griffith and Jordan gave Lufkin a 3-0 lead.
The Lady Pack added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings before Akridge delivered a two-run single to make it 7-0.
Christa Radke shut it down from there, striking out the side in the seventh inning.
Lufkin followed that up by slamming the Lady Dragons 10-0 in Nacogdoches Tuesday night.
Radke got the win in the circle, striking out 12 batters.
Yami Valdez led the Lady Pack at the plate with a pair of singles, an RBI, two runs and five stolen bases. Alex Flores delivered a pair of singles and an RBI and Mayes had two singles, two RBI and two runs.
Lufkin improved to 26-2 on the season and 10-0 in district action with the win.
