Lady Pack wins thriller; Panthers fall

It was quite a night for the Lufkin Lady Panthers as they battled to a scoreless draw for 74 minutes before escaping with a 1-0 win over the College Park Lady Cavs in District 12-6A action on Friday night.

Katelyn Knowles delivered a goal for the Lady Panthers with six minutes remaining as they posted a key 1-0 victory at Jase Magers Soccer Field.

The win was a key one for the Lady Panthers as they surpassed the Lady Cavs in moving into second place. Lufkin trails only district-leading The Woodlands in the district standings.

Meanwhile it was a rough night for the Panthers as they were on the wrong end of a 6-0 road loss to the College Park Cavaliers.

Despite the lopsided loss, Lufkin is still in playoff positioning as it sits alone in fourth place in the district standings.

The Lady Panthers will have another home game on Thursday night as they host Conroe.

The Panthers will have another road game as they travel to Conroe.
